The Worst Advice I've Ever Been Given
May 30, 2024The worst advice I’ve ever been given is that if you work harder, you’ll make more money! Which is just BS! The truth is that working harder doesn’t necessarily mean more money.
But the old school thinking of working harder equals more money is no longer relevant.
The rise of the small business woman has come about women want more time. They want the flexibility to be there for their kids. They want a life by design instead of being caught up in the 9 to 5 hustle and grind.
Don’t get me wrong, I still think you’ve got to do the work. But if you aren’t intentional with your actions, then it doesn’t matter how hard you work—making more money isn’t going to come easily.
Intentional Action Over Hard Work
As small business women, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and stressed about money. The pressure to succeed can make you feel like you need to work around the clock. However, simply working harder without a clear strategy will eventually lead to burnout and there won't be any financial gain.
Creating a Financial Wellness Plan
Instead of exhausting yourself with endless hours of work, focus taking intentional action. This is why I love creating a Financial Wellness plan for your business. This plan serves as a road map - it's the guide which ensures your actions are intentional and that your efforts are aligned with your financial goals.
Here's what a good Financial Wellness Plan needs to include:
-
Set Clear Financial Goals: Determine what you want to achieve financially. Whether it’s increasing your revenue, reducing expenses, or investing in growth opportunities, having clear goals is crucial but make sure those goals are determined in a feminine way!
-
Identify Key Actions: Outline the specific actions that will help you reach your financial goals. This could include marketing strategies, customer retention plans, or new product launches.
-
Monitor and Adjust: Regularly review your financial performance and adjust your actions as needed. Being flexible and responsive to your business’s needs is key to sustained financial success.
Take Intentional, Aligned Action
Remember, making more money isn’t about working harder; it’s about working smarter. Are you ready to take intentional, aligned action? By focusing on a strategic plan and making informed decisions, you can achieve financial wellness and success in your business.
Empower yourself with a clear financial strategy, and watch as your business flourishes with purpose and direction. So let's be very clear with our focus and intention. Embracing a smarter way to work will earn you more money plus it will also provide small business women with the dream of creating their life by design.
