Mindset is such a buzz word at the moment though the reality is, if you don't have the right mindset (or whatever you call it), business success will always feel out of reach.

So what is mindset and how does it impact women in business?

Mindset is underlying beliefs and attitudes you have about yourself. It shapes how you see the world and react to different situations and ultimately, it influences your actions and ability to learn and grow.

The most important thing with mindset is how you see yourself. As a woman in business those thoughts are really the make or break when it comes to being successful.

Maybe you think you're not able to charge that much or maybe you think you don't know enough, the way you see yourself will either limit or expand your opportunities. The tricky thing with your mindset though is that it's often those thoughts are under the surface which really determine how you show up. They're the quiet voices in your head telling you can or can't do something. They're the ones who either make or break us.

So here's what I know to be true when it comes to shifting your mindset.

The first thing is that you need to be kind t yourself. I'm sure you've heard it before, though you really wouldn't say the things you're saying to yourself to your best friend, so stop saying them to yourself.

Next, become so self aware of exactly what it is that you're saying to yourself. Recognise those voices and start to question if what you're saying really is true or if it's just trying to keep you playing small.

Embrace learning as a form of growth. Reframing things that feel hard, wrong or like they're a failure actually have something to teach you. Being open to see the lessons will expand your thinking and ultimately your success.  

And ultimately, surround yourself with people who are where you want to be. Be around those who support you and challenge you to go to the next level.

Remember though, success is so personal and creating a mindset which allows you to see all the options and then choose what's right for you, will mean that you'll create the life you've been dreaming of for you and your family.
