The Hardest Thing To Decide Is What To Do Next

Overwhelm burnout prevention women in business

I caught up with a friend a few weeks ago and we were talking about all the things women are doing today.

Working, being the gatekeeper of the household admin, mum taxi, wife, partner, friend and the list goes on. One thing's for sure is that it is ALOT!

The emotional load that comes along with doing it all feels very heavy and takes it's toll... But I don't think we acknowledge just how impactful this load is on our personal and emotional wellbeing.

Taking this to the next level, women operating a business have an extra level of stress!

Either way, it's a juggle and it can be super overwhelming!

What I find is that our natural tendency as women is to keep pushing through even if we're just running on adrenaline and are showing up, day after day, from an emotionally depleted space. The thing is though, continuing to put yourself at the bottom of the wellbeing chain has a direct impact on the way you show up in your business, home and let's face it - life.

And what I know to be true is that when you're leading from this exhausted space, the negative head talk we've all got going on in some form starts to get louder and louder. The overwhelm suddenly becomes crippling and as a result, the self doubt escalates and is out of control.

One of the most important things I've found that helps women entrepreneurs is to get organised. Being organised means having a plan and being structured - which I know goes against our natural feminine power space of being in flow. However if we have a certain amount of structure and can map out our time so that we get the things done that we need to do, we can build into our schedule time for ourselves which is absolutely critical to allow for flow and creativity.

To do this though, you need to get seriously organised. It's about making sure your priorities are right so you stay focused on the important stuff because there is always so much more that can be done. Doing this means you're going to pace yourself, you're in it for the long haul and won't feel the pressure to do it all now.

But the most important this is, it's about preventing burnout and preserving your energy. It's about recognising your warning signs and factoring in space to nurture yourself. It's about creating calm and clarity in your world.

The world needs you to be functioning as your best self.

You need to be functioning as your best self

Of course the to-do list will be never ending so by removing the pressure and the overwhelm of deciding what to do next means you can get comfortable with the level of busyness your life brings.
